HISTORY OF VIPER SAFETY, AND THE "VISI-LOC" CONCEPT In the early stages, Viper Safety was built around our patented "VISI-LOC" lockout tag out safety vest with our unique onboard lockout station. Our roots are from a deep background in the lumber industry where fast-paced operations are an every day way of life. Throughout my years in this business I have witnessed everything from smashed fingers to employees that have been severely crushed in machines. The underlying causes of these injuries were lack of safety training and taking shortcuts by failing to lock out. An injury is always a “hard Lesson,” some more than others, but nonetheless, the injury is usually a result of lack of training and accountability. After wittnessing terrible injuries the concept was realized of a vest mounted lockout station "VISI-LOC" to keep workers safer by making them feel good about having the right lockout gear safely at their fingertips. This concept has been a wonderful success.
